We are happy about the win as we knew Tatran are a tough team. However, today it was obvious that they are not at full strength and it was hard for them without some important players. At times it was not a pretty match, but at the end we achieved a positive result and now we're looking towards the second leg.

David Mandic, PPD Zagreb player:
I want to congratulate my teammates on staying in the match after an early deficit. In the second half we improved on the defensive side of the court and kept Tatran from scoring a lot of goals. Second leg is on Wednesday already and we must stay focused.

Slavko Goluza, Tatran coach:
Firstly congrats to my team for putting up a good fight and to Zagreb on this win here today. We started well, but as the time went on, we lacked rotation and could not keep the same tempo. It was not easy to keep up with Zagreb as we are missing number of starting players. However, I want to thank my team for showing a character and our fans for their support during the match.

Congrats to both teams. In some of the duels, we could see why Zagreb are playing in the elite group of the Champions League. They have some very strong players and are a good team, but we could have reached a better result if it wasn't for some unnecessary mistakes. For some players, it was a good experience to play more minutes in a match like this. We will go to Zagreb to put on a good performance and see what it eventually brings us.
