Tomic: “We were playing better overall and made good use of transition“
Vojvodina - Tatran Presov 23:22 (13:12)
(Nikolic 5, Stankovic 5; Verkic 18 saves / Cabezon 5, Grzentic 5)
Boris Rojevic, Vojvodina coach:
Goal was to win with a margin of at least five goals but we're also happy with this minimum win. We are aware Tatran arrived without two players but we also weren't able to count on two of our guys today. If our defense was this good against Vardar I believe we would have probably kept points here in Novi Sad.
Branko Tomic, Vojvodina player:
I'm happy about this win. We were playing better overall while significantly improving on the defensive side of the court. We also made good use of transition. Last match of the group phase is now ahead of us and I expect us to continue with good outings in Ukraine.
Slavko Goluza, Tatran Presov coach:
The draw would have probably been the best result considering everything we've seen here today. We came here without two important players but that doesn't make Vojvodina's win any less important. They have a good team and I feel like details decided winner today.
Nino Grzentic, Tatran Presov player:
Really tough match, just as we expected. Vojvodina have a very good team and we on the other hand couldn't count on two of our very important players. However, despite of that, this loss is on us because we missed from a few counter-attacks which we should have scored from and it proved to be costly.
