Second home win for Eurofarm Rabotnik as they beat Metaloplastika
In a duel of two national vice-champions, Eurofarm Rabotnik celebrated their second win in a row in the SEHA - Gazprom League beating Metaloplastika Sabac 32:21 (15:8) in Group B. The home team put the last week’s EHF Champions League defeat in Sweden behind them and gave great joy to the fans in the stands in “Boro Curlevski” hall in Bitola.
Having an in-form goalkeeper and a good attack makes everything easier, and the home players were supported by the goalkeeper Nikolce Mitrevski. He made some excellent saves versus the young players of Metaloplastika who arrived in Bitola without some more experienced players. In the opening minutes, Mitrevski had seven saves including two 7m shots, and Metaloplastika scored their first goal after 11 minutes.
Guest head coach Veselin Vukovic asked for an early time out after 9 minutes. However, the home team continued to dominate and used almost every chance to score and with aggressive defense and excellent Mitrevski in goal secured an advantage of seven goals at half time, 15:8.
Coach Stevche Alushovski decided to give a chance to many players at Eurofarm Rabotnik, and it did not reflect on the scoreline. On the contrary, players from Bitola increased their advantage even more. In the 44th minute Eurofarm Rabotnik managed to increase their advantage to double digits, 24:14 as an announcement of the victory already looming.
Lovro Jotic scored for the biggest advantage, 32:19 in the 57th minute. Nikolce Mitrevski finished the match with 12 saves and Lovro Jotic scored 8 goals for Eurofarm Rabotnik. Dejan Babic scored 6 times for Metaloplastika.
In the next round, Eurofarm Rabotnik will host Telekom Veszprem on October 2, in Bitola, as part of three difficult matches in six days. Metaloplastika will play in Sabac against Meshkov Brest od October 3.
