Bebeshko: ‘’We respect Vojvodina and we won’t underestimate them!’’
Brest will on Tuesday (4PM CET) host SEHA - Gazprom League Round 15 match with highly-favored hosts welcoming currently bottom-placed Vojvodina. Anything but a routine job for Belarusian champs would come as a surprise, especially after their win against PSG at home a few days ago.
Meshkov still have to theoretically confirm their F4 ticket as they are currently third with a two-point advantage over Celje. They have four more matches to play in the regular part of the season and a win in each one of them is equally as important for coach Bebeshko and his boys in case they want to avoid playing Vardar in F4 semis.
Coach Bebeshko decided to leave six of his players on the sidelines due to upcoming domestic challenges which means he’ll try to beat Vojvodina on Tuesday without Shylovich, Nikulenkau, Rutenka, Stojkovic, Horak and Pesic with youngsters like Mochalov and Budzeika looking at an enlarged amount of playtime against Vojvodina.
Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov coach:
We are hosting League’s bottom-placed team at the moment. Last few matches however proved Vojvodina’s new coach brought a few new positive things to the team and we’re sure they won’t be traveling here only to play but to gain something from this clash. We’ll take them seriously despite of everything - we respect them and won’t underestimate Serbian champs.
Viachaslau Shumak, Meshkov player:
After an important win over PSG in EHF Champions League during the weekend it’s time to turn towards SEHA challenges. We need points in this competition as well as it is important to reach the final tournament from the best possible position. We all realize the importance of this match and three points it brings.
Kasim Kamenica, Vojvodina coach:
In our domestic Cup match I finally saw a maximum level of motivation in my players. I see that as a progress on psychological level and it pleases me of course. We are going to Brest without four of Montenegrin players. Obviously we’ll miss them and I believe we’ll be heavily weakened without them. However, I want to see that motivation in my players like I saw in our most recent Cup match.
Strahinja Stankovic, Vojvodina player:
We are going to Brest eager to play a quality match. We won’t be able to count on four of our teammates in Belarus but we must put in effort because of both us and the club we’re representing. We’re slowly starting to transfer ideas our new coach has from our locker room to the court.
Match will be broadcasted on ehf TV, BLR TV (Belarus), Sport TV (Slovenia) and Arena Sport channels.
