Alonso: “Two goals is a solid advantage, it won't allow us to relax too much“
Meshkov Brest - Motor Zaporozhye 30:28 (16:15)
(Shkurinskiy 6, Vailupau 5 / Ganchev 6, Komok 11 saves)
Gintaras Savukinas, Motor coach:
I am pleased with the character my guys showcased today in the second half. Unfortunately, poor attacking performance didn't allow us to win. I am sure fans enjoyed this one here today. It was tense and narrow throughout the entire course of the game. Both teams were fighting all the way until the end and I think we'll have another good game in Zaporozhye.
Maxim Babichev, Motor player:
Well-deserved win for Meshkov. Game was really tough however this was just the first half. I hope we'll deliver an even better performance in Zaporozhye, win and reach Final 4.
Raul Alonso, Meshkov Brest coach:
I agree that fans must have liked this game. Of course, it would have been better if we managed to reach a better result. However, Motor played a smart game. We know we can play better. Two goals is a solid advantage, it won't allow us to relax too much. There are a couple of days ahead of us in which we'll try to prepare in the best possible way for the second match. I hope we'll be more confident on the road and if we do that we'll have good chances to reach final tournament.
Andrei Yurynok, Meshkov Brest player:
Hard game. I feel like we didn't play best we can. We can be better and that's why I was a little nervous. However, thanks to good preparations, we were still able to reach the win.
