Motor Zaporozhye looking to prolong the winning streak against Tatran Presov
Tuesday, October 29th, will be reserved for yet another Group A derby clash with Ukrainian champions Motor Zaporozhye hosting Slovakian Tatran Presov. Match is scheduled for 19.00 CET.
Motor Zaporozhye were able to start the season in a very good manner and are currently on top of the standings in their group with four wins and only one loss. Home court has really proven to be a big advantage for them this season as they were able to come out victorious in each SEHA clash in front of their fans so far.
Tatran Presov have on the other hand experienced quite a bit of struggles to start the season but seem to be shaking the rust off lately and are travelling to Ukraine with points on their mind. Currently, they are positioned third with three victories and two defeats.
Two teams have already met this season in the very first round with Motor managing to edge Slavko Goluza and his players in the final moments of the game taking important points back to Zaporozhye which is just another reason why Tatran will most definitely be extra motivated to take revenge and do whatever they can to put an end on Motor’s winning streak.
Slavko Goluza, Tatran Presov coach:
I consider Motor to be favorites in this one. We will focus to deliver a good performance and put in maximum effort throughout the entire course of the game. Regardless of their quality we are surely not travelling to Zaporozhye with a ‘white flag’ but to give everything we’ve got and look for the best possible result. It is difficult to predict the outcome of course but we will definitely be ready for this one.
Igor Chupryna, Tatran Presov goalkeeper:
We are aware that Motor have a very strong, experienced team full of quality players. They are in good shape at the moment and will surely look to win this one. What we’re expecting is a well-driven team playing at home and looking to prolong the streak of strong SEHA League performances. We’re on the other side also improving and considering the fact that our injured players are also slowly getting back on track we will travel to Zaporozhye to fight for three new points.
Mykola Stepanets, Motor Zaporozhye coach:
It’s hard for me to say much about my team’s current shape since most of our players were involved in national team action last week with only Kasai, Babichev, Kravchenko and Kus staying in Zaporozhye. We have a training session scheduled for Monday evening and that is when I will know more about both physical and psychological shape of the team. We’re aware Tatran will look to take revenge after we managed to defeat them in Slovakia to start the season. I hope fans will once again be there for us and support us in trying stay where we are at the moment and that is the top of Group A standings. We have five more matches ahead of us until the end of 2019, two at home and three on the road and we will do our best to finish the year off in a perfect way!
Oleksandr Kasai, Motor Zaporozhye player:
We still remember the match from Presov and how hard it was to reach that win. We are however, as coach already stated, aware Tatran will try to get revenge on wings of their premier EHF Champions League victory. They have a very good goalkeeper in Igor Chupryna and some quality players like Javier Munoz and Oliver Rabek. Their defense also seems to be on the rise lately becoming denser and more reliable but despite of all that we’ll definitely give our best to come out victorious in this one.
