Can Maks Strumica finally celebrate?
Може ли конечно Макс Струмица да се радува на победа
Although they are currently on the bottom of SEHA Gazprom League’s table Maks Strumica are optimistic in their last match of the year which is scheduled for Tuesday (17.45 CET) when they will meet Spartak Vojput. Will they finally celebrate their first victory of the season?
Spartak have arrived to Skopje as ‘mini-favorites’ with two wins in the season. Victory over Maks would allow them to fight for higher positions on League’s table. In their first clash of the season Spartak were in Subotica better with 26:18 making Maks thirsty for revenge.
The reality however says that Macedonians are experiencing tough financial crisis with some players already leaving the club which will certainly making grabbing points a lot harder.
Marjan Andonov, Maks Strumica’ coach
This is our last game this year. I think this is right game to win for the first time in SEHA Gazprom league. We’ve already scored two points, but we want to celebrate our first win in SEHA Gazprom league. Spartak Vojput are a team similar to us. At the moment they are in better position than we are with more points by their name but that does not mean much. We want to take revenge for the loss in Subotica and finally celebrate our first victory!
Zlatko Vezenkovski, Maks Strumica’ player:
I hope and expect the first victory in the League this season. They are in similar situation as we are looking at League’s table. We were not lucky enough in the first match to take points and I hope we’ll now manage to do it.
Branislav Zeljković, Spartak Vojput’ coach:
I am glad that we’ve improved our form. In last games we could not endure on equal level for 60 minutes, but usually for only one half. On the last match in Banja Luka we’ve played really well. I see that players are willing and expect to show a quality performance. We will try to do our best and win new points. We do not underestimate rival as they’ve already showed they know how to play well against us in Subotica and against Vojvodina Novi Sad. I think we will be fighting until the end in an uncertain match.
Borislav Ljubojević, Spartak Vojput’ player:
Against the team of Maks Strumica I expect a victory. I think hosts will fight well in front of their fans but I believe that our fast breaks and good transition will create advantage.
