Champions League – Meshkov first, Veszprem third, PPD Zagreb and Vardar fifth
First part of Champions League is over. From six SEHA League's representatives in the competition four have managed to survived it - Veszprem, Vardar, PPD Zagreb and Meshkov. Tatran and Vojvodina were unfortunatelly kicked out of competition.
In elite groups 10 from 14 rounds are over. From SEHA Gazprom League's representatives Veszprem are doing best and are currently positioned third in group A although they were in last round beaten in Kiel with 25:24. Laszlo Nagy was in great mood with 6 goals. In the same group PPD Zagreb have with a point in Plock managed to secure fifth position. In a 23:23 draw Stefan Vujić scored 6.
In group B Vardar were in tenth round better than Kolding with 34:24 ending a bad streak which has in the end brought them fifth position after the first part. In a big victory Matjaž Brumen, Alem Toskić, Luka Cindrić and Timur Dibirov have scored 4 each. Meshkov have finished the group phase on first position and will play Skjern to reach eighth-finals. In the last round they have confirmed group triupmh with a 32:26 win against Chehovskie Medvedi with Rastko Stojković being their first name with 8 goals. However, it is now clear that the most important victory was 32:28 which they have managed to achieve in Logrones in round 9.
In the same group Tatran and Vojvodina have concluded their CL adventure with losses. Tatran were at home beaten by La Rioja with 19:21. Antl was once again best scorer with 6. They are in the end bottom positioned. Vojvodina are at fifth place after a tough 15:37 loss in Porto in which Todorović scored 3 goals.
