Reinforced Zagreb with Marković to end negative series
Zagreb jači za Markovića, Spartak za popravni
After two losses, in Champions League in Istanbul and in SEHA Gazprom League against Tatran in Prešov Zagreb are for the first time in SEHA League waiting for the clash against Spartak from Subotiva. Croatian champion's biggest desire is to start a new winning strike and get in better mood ahead of national team break. Spartak are so far having a great season - they have recorded two victories playing nice handball and in case Zagreb remains on level from previous matches they might even have a chance to stun. However, reality speaks quite different. Zagreb is a big favorite and anything but their victory would be quite a surprise.
Veselin Vujović, PPD Zagreb's coach:
Before players leave to national team break and ahead of extremely important clash with Flensburg in Champions League it is important to win against Spartak to stay in good mood. We can expect full roster to be available despite of the fact that Pavlović, Stepančić and Kontrec are not training with the rest of the team. As you know, we are reinforced with Dobrivoje Marković who I find to be a superb player joining us on the left winf. I am not sure he'll play against Spartak, it is still a bit too early for him, but we'll work on having him in the first team as soon as possible.
Sandro Obranović, PPD Zagreb's player:
We're clear favorites and we have to show it on court. Losses against Besiktas and Tatran are behind us and we have to everything in order to prove our fans that we still have good atmosphere and that we're a team ready to go all the way in each competition.
Branislav Zeljković, Spartak Vojput' coach:
Zagreb are a stronger team than we are. They have had certain problems losing some games which makes me sure they'll be fully motivated against us. Our task is to try, despite of the fact we're tired, to reach a result which would not be a disaster.
Miloš Lojaničić, Spartak Vojput' player:
After Veszprem we'll face another very strong team in a moment when we're empty both physically and mentally. It won't be easy because Zagreb will surely be highly motivated after two losses. Zagreb are an amazing team in my opinion, probably playing the best handball in Europe at the moment along with Veszprem.
