Metalurg trying to avoid bitter ending of 2014 in front of their fans

Metalurg - Vardar 3 (14/15)

Current Macedonian champions Metalurg have a tough match ahead of them. On Sunday, 19.00 CET they will host one of the best European teams MKB-MVM Veszprem and try to surpsire favorized guests in their last home match of the year. In their first clash of the season Hungarians were better with 33:21 and it seems this match ill not be much more different. Macedonians still have many problems with injuries and roster in general so what is left for them are desire, motiavation and home-court boost.

Metalurg are sixth with 11 points, Veszprem first with remarkable 10 wins from 10 matches. After a convincing victory in Prešov their goal surely is to continue the winning streak.

Lino Červar, Metalurg’s coach:

Veszprem are coming to Skopje in a really bad moment for us but we're definitelly looking forward to playing this match. After it my players will have time to rest and prepare for national team duties and that is why I wish we get through this match without injuries. Neloski, Jonoski and Mojsovski will probably not play due to their injuries which means I don't have much choices for tomorrow but we have what we have. Youngsters will surely be given a bigger chance against Veszprem, it is great for them to play such matches. Speaking about Veszprem, we respect them, they are one of the best European teams and we've already felt their strenght this season...

Filip Taleski, Metalurg’s player:

Veszprem are one of the strongest teams in Europe with one of the best defenses. We have troubles with injured players, but we will on Sunday try to gather our strength and with help of great crowd maybe even surprise our guests.

Carlos Ortega, MKB-MVM Veszprém’s coach:

Metalurg have a quite new team after their problematic period when they've lost some players but they are always dangerous at home and they still have some good players. We have a lot of respect for them. We know playing in Skopje is never easy but we will try to get three points. Our team is getting tired. This first half of the season was long with a lot of matches and trainings but we want to finish these last two matches with victory and after that everybody can have a rest.

Máté Lékai, MKB-MVM Veszprém’s playmaker:

Although we know Metalurg have had problems recently we expect difficult game this weekend.  А lot of their fans will visit the match and the teams from Skopje are always dangerous when they have the support by their spectators on home court. I guess our team is tired a little bit in the end of this year but we wouldn’t like to lose any points in the remaining matches so we want to win on Sunday. I'd like to state that I'm happy that after my injury I'll be able to help my team in these last matches.
