CRO derby, Zagreb's final rehearsal before Meshkov
CRO derbi ili Zagrebovo zagrijavanje za Brest
Tuesday, 18.00 CET brings us new Croatian SEHA GSS derby with PPD zagreb hosting NEXE. In League's first round this season Zagreb was clearly better than NEXE is Osijek with +16. In their three previous clashes in Zagreb in SEHA GSS League, team from Našice was not able to reach points. Zagreb's goal is League's TOP, NEXE's to run away from the bottom. Three days ago Croatian champions were better than Borac in Banja Luka and NEXE has, on the other side, been preparing for this match for past 2 weeks. Final test for Zagreb before CL's clash against Meshkov in Brest.
Zdenko Kordi, NEXE's coach:
Our main task is to show better performance then we did in our last match as well as to show progress. PPD Zagreb is best Croatian team, playing well in CL and surely always a big motive for us
Marin Sakić, NEXE's player:
We've had more than two weeks to prepare for the match in Zagreb and hopefully we'll show it. Zagreb is, comparing to our last clash, playing better in my opinion, more agressive. Win against Kiel has given them extra boost of self-confidence. It will be a good test for us. I expect a better performance than last time.
Zlatko Saračević, PPD Zagreb's assistant coach:
Our matches against NEXE are always a derby, +16 last time was not real. The fact is that they have big 'player traffic' each season and it is hard to make everything work well at the beginning of the season. They are, however clearly rising and I expect a good performance from them. We have to take this match serious, this is our last test before one of our most important matches of the season - CL's clash against Meshkov in Brest.
Mateo Lukačec, PPD Zagreb's player:
We've played an outstanding match in the first round and it can help us prepare for this match. We are national champions and we will tomorrow look to show that we're playing best handball in Croatia!
