Stanić and Metalurg part company
One of Metalurg’s best players - goalkeeper Darko Stanić has decided not to travel with the team to Champions League’s third round match in Croatian capital against PPD Zagreb. Club has today only announced that the cooperation between them and Stanić has, with their today’s meeting, come to an end. Club has stated that cooperation between them was good through all three years and that they have both had use of it.
Coach Lino Červar now has Nikola Mitrevski and Miroslav Kocić as options between bars and it still remains to see whether club’s leaders will decide to get some other reinforcement.
"I’ve spent three wonderful and unforgettable years in Metalurg. We have had a constructive meeting and decided it is time to part company. Situation in the club is not really good and I am not happy to leave Avtomomanda in this moment but our opinion was that it is the best for both of us. I wish club a lot of luck and success in the future. I was really happy to be a part of this great, successful project and I am proud of all achievements I’ve reached with Metalurg", said Stanić.
