A lot to play for in Bitola as Nexe comes to visit
The final match of the group stage in the SEHA – Gazprom League group A is upon us with Nexe Nasice travelling to Bitola to meet Eurofarm Pelister. After a road loss in Nasice, it is clear that Eurofarm Pelister will be aiming for a win against Nexe in front of their home fans.
Only a day after announcing Manuel Strlek as their newest reinforcement from the summer of 2023, Nexe will travel to Bitola where they will face off against a highly-motivated Eurofarm Pelister team which underwent a coaching change recently as Aleksandar Jovic replaced Lars Walther after the Danish coach failed to help Eurofarm Pelister book a place in the knockout stage of the EHF European League.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday (18.00 CET) and it is surely going to be the one you don’t want to miss out on with Eurofarm aiming to shift into a higher gear with a new coach in charge, and Nexe preparing for their first Croatian league derby match of the season against PPD Zagreb that is scheduled for Saturday in the Croatian capital.
Aleksandar Jovic, Eurofarm Pelister coach:
It’s going to be a tough match against an excellent team. From this point on, the goal is to win every time we’re out there. We have a roster full of really good individuals, but we have to find a way to make them play like a team, and that takes time. Bitola is a handball capital, and I assure you we’ll do everything to show what we are really capable of, with good commitment from all the players.
Goce Ojleski, Eurofarm Pelister player:
We all know that Nexe is a quality opponent. Every year they are aiming for the best results. We are not complete at the moment due to some injuries, but with a new coach and new energy, we’ll do our absolute best to win the match.
Branko Tamse, Nexe coach:
We are aware that a fantastic atmosphere is going to be waiting for us in Bitola. We are still missing some of our players who had national team obligations in these last two days, but we’ll do our absolute best to deliver a solid performance. We respect the Eurofarm Pelister team, and our goal will be to play at the highest possible level for as long as possible, as well as to enjoy the game and see what that eventually gets us.
Mihailo Radovanovic, Nexe goalkeeper:
Goal will obviously be to deliver a good performance in Bitola, preparing for what lies ahead in the Croatian championship. Pelister has an excellent team with a lot of quality players so I expect it to be a good one. They also have incredible fans, and I’m sure the hall will be packed. I hope for a good game and a good performance from our side. Hopefully we’ll manage to take points home, although it is going to be far from easy.
