Vardar 1961

Vardar have, all the way back in 2011/2012 season, managed to become the first team to climb SEHA throne. ‘Red&Blacks’ were back then, led by Veselin Vujovic, better than Lino Cervar and his Metalurg squad (21:18) with Czech winger Jan Sobol being their key offensive asset in that one.

Macedonians have after that managed to win four more reaching a grand total of five SEHA – Gazprom League titles. In this season they will be led by Spanish coach David Davis who helped Hungarian Telekom Vesprem defeat Vardar in 2019/2020 SEHA – Gazprom League Final 4 final.

Macedonians are, apart from reaching record five titles, managed to reach some other amazing achievements. In season 2017/2018 they finished the regular season without a single defeat (17 wins and one draw). Vardar and Motor Zaporozhye are on the top of the list when it comes to goals scored in a single match with 81. Back in season 2019/2020 their duel finished with 44:37. Macedonians are also holding the record of the most matches without a single loss with 31. It is interesting that the series started in Zagreb on December 13, 2016 and ended against the same team on October 16, 2018.

Vardar’s already legendary ‘Flying Russian’ Timur Dibirov finished last season as their best scorer with 57 goals while Stojanche Stoilov remains their only player from that first SEHA title-winning campaign now already ten seasons ago.
