Turchenko saves the day as Motor come out victorious versus Vojvodina
In the first match of the day Motor were in Zaporozhye better than Vojvodina, securing an important win which they had to fight for all the way until the final buzzer.
Hosts were four goals in front (30:26) with about eight minutes left until the final whistle. However, guests from Serbia refused to give up finishing strong and levelling the result at 30:30 as Branko Tomic led the comeback with two goals. Turchenko later scored to put his team 31:30 in front which ended up being the final result in this one after Strahinja Stankovic failed to level it once again. Viacheslau Bokhan proved to be in great form after the WCh scoring six from just as much attempts for Motor. Playmaker Aidenas Malasinskas finished the match with four. Mladen Sotic led guests with ten goals after he went 6/6 versus Macedonian Vardar a few days ago. Young Branko Tomic netted five.
Quality match like this will definitely prove to be useful for two teams with European challenges ahead of them coming up in a few days and lasting through the busy month of February.
