EHF EURO 2020, Day 18: Silver for Croatia after tough final match against Spain

Tough final match at the EHF EURO 2020 is behind Croatia who played against Spain for the European champions title. After tough action on the court and heroic 60 minutes, Spain took the victory. Croatia finished the EHF EURO 2020 with silver around their necks.
Croatia started the match more confident. Two back to back goals lead to 2 goals advantage in the 3rd minute. Spain soon managed to equalize and both teams featured goal by goal play. Another 2:0 series from Croatia was seen in the 15th minute. But, Spain made their comeback and soon tok on the lead. Spain ended up going on the half-time break with one goal advantage.
Start of the second one was not so brilliant for Croatia. Seven on six play did not bring a draw, but quite opposite. Spain made 3:0 series and soon they were 4 goals up. Spirit on the other side woke up and started to minimize that gap. With a little more than two minutes left on the clock, the teams were tied. But, two back to back goals led Spain to the European champions title in the end.
Zlatko Horvat scored 2 goals for Croatia while David Mandic added one.
