Home court win for Motor Zaporozhye as cherry on top of the last match in 2019
With a 37:29 win against Vojvodina in the last SEHA League match of the year, Ukrainian Motor Zaporozhye put a cherry on top of 2019 and secured direct tickets for the quarter-finals. Ukrainian champions were dominating for the whole match and ended group phase in the best way possible - delivering victory in front of their fans.
The hosts opened the match better securing early three goals lead in the first few minutes (3:0). It took around 15 minutes until Vojvodina got in the loop of their play and managed to tie the result. For the next few minutes, the teams were equal and goal by goal play could be seen on the court. But, Motor once again stepped up their play at the end of the first half which enabled them to go on a break with three goals advantage.
The hosts continued in the same tone as soon as the second half started. Good offense play and Komok between the posts who delivered some key saves enabled Motor to cruise past Vojvodina and secure 6 goals advantage early in the second half. Serbian champions did not give up and tried to come closer, but Motor seemed to be too strong in this one in the end.
Aidenas Malasinskas shined bright today on the court as he netted 6 goals for the winning team. The best scorers on the other side were Luka Rogan, Nikola Kovacevic and Marko Tasic who each netted 6 times for Vojvodina.
