Tough home court appearance for Metaloplastika
Serbian vice-champions Metaloplastika will meet Meshkov Brest at legendary Zorka hall on Thursday, 3rd of October at 5:15 PM (CET). The team from Sabac returned to the SEHA - Gazprom League after eight seasons to gain more experience in clashes with amazing European teams. At the start of the new season, they have two defeats, one against PPD Zagreb and Eurofarm Rabotnik. However, experienced coach Veselin Vukovic believes that his young squad can show good performance and try to win in front of home fans even without injured left back Aleksandar Babic.
On the other side, Meshkov Brest will come to Sabac without some of the most important players. Some of them are getting ready for tough away challenge in Veszprem on Saturday.
Veselin Vukovic, Metaloplastika coach:
The team worked hard, but our main disadvantage is lack of experience from young players. We will give our best to improve our results and to try and win the match against Meshkov Brest. Aleksandar Babic won't be able to help the team as he is currently injured and won't be on the court for the next 10 days.
Todor Jandric, Metaloplastika goalkeeper:
We prepared a lot for tomorrow's match against Meshkov Brest. We expect much better match than our last one against Eurofarm Rabotnik. We will give our all and try to improve our play.
Andrey Mochalov, Meshkov Brest assistant coach:
We already have the experience of two matches in one day. We did not know how this would happen last year, but now we have a complete picture. We are thinking only about positive results. I think, despite the separation, both of our teams are very combat-ready. We understand it will not be easy - with Metaloplastika, and even more so with Veszprem. But, we will play for victory. Metaloplastika have two defeats at the start of the season. But, it should be noted that they are very dangerous at home. There are young players, and more experienced ones. In general, the team has a good roster. However, it also has weaknesses - but now I do not want to disclose them.
Daniel Andrejew, Meshkov Brest player:
We watched the video with Metaloplastika's matches. I think it will be a fast and tough game. Away matches are always difficult in the SEHA - Gazprom League. And now our team was divided to two teams. For many of us, this is a new situation. But everyone who travels to Serbia will make maximum effort to win.
