Svetislav Jovanovic will try to put the ’fire’ down in Nis
Zeleznicar 1949 have managed to find an interim coaching solution, at least until the end of the season with Svetislav Jovanovic taking over right before final four Serbian Play-Off matches. His ultimate goal will be to try to help Zeleznicar finish the season on second position which would secure them another SEHA - Gazprom League appearance next season.
Jovanovic is a familiar face in Cair sports hall with some great years as a coach of female handball club Naisa Nis winning six trophies, one of which was 2007 Challenge Cup.
“After all the negotiations with both sides – Naisa and their president Milos Stojanovic and Zeleznicar Nis, I agreed to try and help ’Zelja’ finish the season on a high note. I’m familiar with the situation here in Nis but it definitely won’t be an easy job since I have only a few training sessions with the team before my coaching debut against Pancevo. By that, we’re also dealing with Predrag Vejin’s injury problems“, concluded Jovanovic.
Zeleznicar are currently third with the same amount of points as Dinamo but with two less than second-placed Metaloplastika.
