Khalifa's 16 saves power Vardar to a three-goal win in Ljubuski
Vardar have on Tuesday evening in Ljubuski managed to celebrate their 14th win of SEHA Gazprom League season defeating the home team 31:28 and opening the gap between themselves and both Croatian regional league representatives in the standings to three points. Both PPD Zagreb and NEXE however still have to play their final regular season matches which means it is still unclear which clashes we will see in Final 4 semis.
Vardar arrived to Ljubuski with a rejuvenated team which was this time led by Martin Popovski who finished the match with nine goals. Dejan Kukolovski, Daniil Shishkarev and Dmitrij Kiselev added four each while Ghedbane Khalifa grabbed remarkable 16 saves clearly being the game-winning factor for his team in this one. 'Red&Black' opened the gap to six (10:16) until the half-time whistle additionally widening it to eight (11:19) five minutes into the second. However, after that they somehow slowed down allowing hosts to narrow it down to, in the end fully 'acceptable', three (28:31).
