Sime Ivic scores 10/10 as Meshkov celebrate in Skopje
Macedonian vice-champions believed they can defeat favoured Meshkov Brest on Sunday night in Skopje but the reality turned out to be way different with Belarusian champs grabbing a 28:34 (13:16) win in the end which helped them keep their chances of reaching Final 4 tournament alive as they remain fifth on league’s table.
It was from the very first moment clear guests decided to take this match seriously arriving with the strong roster and being able to stay in control of the result throughout the full course of the game avoiding any uncertainties. Sime Ivic delivered one of his best performances in Meshkov’s jersey so far scoring six from just as much attempts in the first half only to finish the match with ten goals and a perfect scoring percentage. Petar Djordjic added as much but from 17 attempts with the two proving to be the biggest threats for young Metalurg team which refused to give up until the final whistle. Goncalo Ribeiro on the other side netted eight for hosts.
In the next round Meshkov will host Zeleznicar and Metalurg will play Nexe away from home.
