Goluza: 'A well-deserved win, but we must remain humble'
Meshkov Brest - Tatran Presov 28:32 (16:16)
(Ivic 5, Djukic 4 / Butorac 7, Hrstka 5)
Slavko Goluza, Tatran Presov coach:
We were not good enough in defense in the first half having conceded 16 goals but we did much better in the second. In the most critical moments of the match, however, we've managed to keep our focus and I think this is a well-deserved win in the end. However, we must remain humble and start preparing for the next match against Bjerringbro.
Roman Tsarapkin, Tatran Presov player:
I’d like to thank our fans for coming all the way to Brest to support us. Tough match for us, especially during the first half when our defense was not functioning well. Second half was better as we started playing faster and better scoring some easy goals. Important CL match against the Danes is ahead of us and we’re all aware there is still room for improvement. I’d like to congratulate my teammates on a big fight tonight and a win in the end.
Manolo Cadenas, Meshkov Brest coach:
We’ve experienced huge problems on the defensive side of the court in the first and once Tatran grabbed on to the lead it was hard to catch them. They have a quality team and in my opinion, they showed a bigger will to win the match today despite of the fact they played a tough match in Turkey, travelled all the way to Minsk and then Brest of course. Nothing could stop them. They were more confident in key moments of the match tonight.
Vid Poteko, Meshkov Brest player:
We played poorly tonight and our opponents looked better in multiple aspects of the game reaching a fully deserved win in the end. We must forget about this match as soon as possible and get ready for the match on Saturday which is of critical importance for us.
