Tatran upset Meshkov, leave Belarus with three points
In the first match of the fourth round, favored Meshkov have suffered a surprising 28:32 defeat at home against Tatran Presov after they started their Champions League campaign successfully in Sweden just a few days ago.
Prior to the match, Tatran’s coach Slavko Goluza admitted he sees Meshkov as favorites in this one but highlighted the fact that his team fears no one which is exactly what his players proved out there today, especially in final 15 minutes of the match playing fully focused when it was most important securing three huge points for themselves in the end.
Slovakian champs have this way proved the fact that they closely lost to reigning regional league champions Vardar was far from coincidence proving everyone they are this season eyeing the F4 placement!
Bruno Butorac led his team with seven goals while Tomas Cip, Jakub Hrstka and Janus Lapajne netted five each. Lukas Urban delivered a solid performance as well combining two goals with ten assists. Sime Ivic on the other hand scored five for Meshkov.
