Shock therapy gives results as Vojvodina come out on top against Metalurg
There are no more teams without a victory this season in SEHA - Gazprom League as Vojvodina beat Macedonian Metalurg 21:19 (11:11) in an extremely narrow clash in Novi Sad. It was a real battle of defenses in which hosts seemed to be boosted after a shock therapy and sacking of their coach Bosko Rudic.
Hosts opened the match well taking early 5:2 lead but were a bit slowed down after Radovan Ostojic' injury while on the other side coach Cervar managed to wake his team bringing them to 9:9 with less than 5 minutes left to play in the first half. Kuzmanovski and Andjelic led the comeback even giving them 1-goal lead but Vojvodina managed to level the result right before the half time whistle.
Team from Novi Sad once again started the half in a better manner opening the gap to 3 after which guests once again leveled result even taking 16:17 lead with a bit more than 10 minutes left on the clock.
However, for the first time this season, Vojvodina's defense became visible helping them seal the deal at 20:18 with 5 minutes left on clock with Milos Grozdanic taking advantage of Metalurg's mistake during powerplay action.
Vojvodina's left winger Vukasin Stojanovic netted six goals while his teammate, lefthander Dusan Trifkovic, added four. On the other side, Filip Kuzmanovski scored five with guests receiving a huge amoung of help from goalkeeper Darko Arsic (11 saves).
