Metalurg host Gorenje in vice-champions face-off
Металург и Горење во дуел за подобар пласман
Metalurg will on Tuesday host Gorenje in a duel between teams from the lower part of the table which will, as it is, not affect final rankings as neither team still has a chance to catch a place on final tournament this season. This should however be a good test for each of them ahead of the beginning of domestic championships. In their premier duel this season Gorenje have managed to reach 23:18 win but recent form favors Macedonians after a win against PPD Zagreb at home and the fact that Gorenje are 0/3 in their last three SEHA encounters.
Lino
Cervar, Metalurg coach:
Gorenje are a strong opponent, we’ve
already lost one to them this season. They have some very good players, some
former Vardar players who are surely familiar with Macedonian handball. Their
6-0 zone was a problem for us in our premier encounter of the season but I hope
we’ll this time, in our final home match of the season, manage to deal with our
opponents in a good manner.
Nemanja
Obradovic, Metalurg player:
I think we have the strength and quality to
surprise Gorenje and win points. We know them well, we’ve analyzed them and we
can say they are a quality rival but also a rival against which we can and
hopefully will play an exciting game against.
Borut
Plaskan, Gorenje coach:
Our game in Skopje will be tough because
Metalurg are a completely different team at home. They’ve managed to surprise
many in Skopje including Zagreb. We are well-prepared and motivated for the
encounter and I think we can deliver a good performance in case we manage to
stick with our plans.
Rok
Zaponsek, Gorenje player:
We’ve trained hard for the upcoming match
against Metalurg. We are eager to win but are also well-aware of how good we’ll
have to play in order to take points home from Skopje.
