WCh France 2017, Day 1: Slovenian refs Lah and Sok assigned for the opener as France demolish Brazil
Dear SEHA Gazprom League fans and fans of handball in general! Here on our website you will in next 19 days have a chance to follow World Championship taking place in France from January 11th all the way to January 29th when we will find out who will take the shiny world champion crown this time.
As you already know we have five SEHA national teams competing in France - Croatia, Hungary, Belarus, Macedonia and Slovenia so of course our main focus in this day-to-day WCh coverage will be their appearances on courts all around France. By them we will also keep an eye on all SEHA players not playing for one of these countries as well as provide you with information about all other matches, stunning player performances, surprising wins, blowouts etc. Stage is set for France to host a great championship in which SEHA Gazprom League's both players and participating countries will surely have something to say so stay tuned!
25th World Championship was opened on Wednesday in Paris with France delivering a stunning performance to open the competition with a blowout win over Brazil 31:16 (17:7) on wings of an incredible goalkeeping performance from French duo Omeyer - Gerard who have combined for 24 saves. Match was however interesting for SEHA Gazprom League fans with Vardar's line player and defensive specialist Brazilian Rogerio Moraes being the first SEHA player to step on the court in France. By him, Slovenian referees Bojan Lah and David Sok were given a great honor being assigned for the championship opener in fully-packed Accorhotels Arena in Paris.

Two SEHA national teams will tomorrow have their premier appearances on WCh courts in France. Metz Arena will host Slovenia in their opening encounter against Angola as well as Macedonians who will look to secure first points in a clash against Tunisia.
