Razgor: ‘’We’ve got to be careful!’’
Only three days after "crazy last 34 seconds" of EHF CL match against Meshkov Brest (36:36), Slovenian champions Celje Pivovarna Lasko will have to show what they can in SEHA Gazprom League against the team of Ljubuski. In their premier encounter of the season guys from Zlatorog have in Bosnia and Herzegovina managed to grab a narrow 31:32 win in a match which was much harder than expected for favored Slovenians.
Teams are in quite different positions with Celje looking to catch Meshkov on fourth position and Izvidjac having a burden less on their shoulders after premier SEHA win of the season two weeks ago against Tatran Presov.
Branko Tamse, Celje Pivovarna Lasko coach:
We are already ahead of a new match. At the moment they are really coming one
after another but it seems that finally we are getting used to this rhythm. Our
next opponent is Izvidac Ljubuski which has young players who have a lot of
quality and are keen to play every match on the top level. Players are aware
that there is a great interest for them among big clubs from both region and
Europe but even in such situation they manage to deliver good performances
playing relaxed and fully focused. Those are their biggest qualities. We
already have experience with that and I am sure that they will present the same
kind of performance on Wednesday. Of course, our main goal is a win, three
points and nothing less and that’s why we have to prepare well and play on a
high level.
David Razgor, Celje Pivovarna Lasko player:
We all
still remember the match in Ljubuski where we’ve had a lot of troubles barely
managing to catch all three points in the end. That is a big enough warning for
us and an advice on how to play against them. They are a very good team able to
grab any opportunity you give them. That is why we have to start match highly focused
on our main goal - three points from this clash.
Toni Colina, Izvidjac Ljubuski assistant coach:
We’ve played great in our first home game against Celje and that was something
they didn’t expect. However, Celje is now a different team. Players are
the same, but they are timing their form for EHF Champions League. I hope that
we will play well in defense and if we stop two of their best players Janc and
Zarabec we will have a good chance in this match.
Matej Hrstic, Izvidjac Ljubuski player:
I would agree with coach Colina as we really have nothing to lose in Celje. In
Ljubuski, we have shown that we can cope with them being close to winning it
but failing to do so due to our inexperience. Celje is now on a higher level,
at least in terms of results in the Champions League but we're going there to
fight and play a good match.
