Metalurg hopes to extend the winning streak
Металург сака да ја продолжи победничката низа
It seems that Metalurg’s players are finally in good, competitive shape and want to make a profit from it and extend the winning streak despite of the fact that their next rival in SEHA Gazprom League will be NEXE Nasice against which it is never easy to reach a victory. Game is scheduled for Tuesday (17.45 CET) in Jane Sandaski sports hall.
After three close defeats in the opening stage of SEHA Gazprom League, Metalurg has managed to reach two wins in a row - in SEHA League against Tatran and in Champions League versus Elverum. NEXE has however also reached premier victory of the season last round against Izvidac and will look to continue with good performances as well.
NEXE traditionally always plays well in SEHA Gazprom League in Skopje. In 8 duels against Metalurg in SEHA Gazprom League NEXE has four wins. They have even managed to beat them once in Skopje as well as catch one draw.
Lino Cervar, Metalurg coach:
After a difficult match in Champions League we have tight schedule ahead
of us. In the upcoming period we will travel more than have practices. NEXE,
besides being a young team has experienced players that can be very difficult
to defend for an opponent. Their fast breaks and back line will be our biggest
problem. We will try to take some rest after the difficult weekend behind us.
Marko Neloski , Metalurg player:
We know NEXE well as we’ve already played them this season, at the end
of August, in pre-season. It’s a young team, but we shouldn’t underestimate
them and must fully prepare for the upcoming match. If we play best we can,
good result will surely be there.
Zdenko Kordi, NEXE coach:
We've played against Metalurg on a tournament in Kanjiza this summer but
we must forget that match. Meanwhile Metalurg reinforced with three excellent,
key players. They've opened the season well with three great performances
against top clubs and a win against Tatran. Also, a few days ago, they've
opened CL with a victory. We have goals and targets we’d like to achieve in
Skopje.
Tomislav Nuic, NEXE player:
Metalurg is an excellent team led by Lino
Cervar. But, we always feel good in Skopje and always play well there. In order
to reach a good result we'll need to play better than against Izvidjac when
we've managed to reach an easy win. That victory was a big self-confidence
booster for us.
