Thank you Igor Vori!
After a long and very successful career, Igor Vori is retiring after this season. The Croatian legend has already started his role as the Croatian national team director.
Vori has won a lot in his career, especially with the Croatian national team. In 2003 he won the World Championship in Portugal, and a year later he won Olympic gold in Athens. He also has an Olympic bronze from London 2012, 2 World Championship silver medals, 1 World Championship bronze medal. Vori also won 2 European silver medals and 1 European bronze.
On club level, he was also incredibly successful. With PPD Zagreb he won 9 national championships, but he also has national titles from Italy, Spain, Germany and France. In 2013, he won the EHF Champions League with HSV Hamburg- his biggest club award. Over the years, Vori was one of the best pivots in the game, and a very reliable defensive force. His successful handball journey led him to the some of the best clubs in the world. He played for: PPD Zagreb, Alpi Palamano Prato, Barcelona, HSV Hamburg and Paris Saint-Germain!
Vori spent the last 2 years playing in the SEHA – Gazprom League. He won the 3rd place this year in Skopje, and came fourth at the 2017 Final in Brest. In total, he recorded 34 appearances, scored 62 goals and has 16 assists.
Igor Vori will forever remain as the legend of the game, and remembered as one of the best line players of all time!
